Symptoms

Early symptoms can be nonspecific, including fever, headache, muscle aches, and gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting.

Severe disease can progress quickly. Respiratory symptoms, shortness of breath, shock, bleeding disorders, or kidney failure require urgent medical evaluation.
